この賞は、The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Pressure Vessels and Piping Division（米国機械学会、圧力容器及び配管部門）より、Chair of the Fluid-Structure Interaction Technical Committee （流体－構造連成技術委員会委員長）と、Chair of the Seismic Engineering Technical Committee （耐震技術委員会委員長）としての貢献に対して授与されました。
